Apple Vision Pro: 3D Movies and Immersive Entertainment

On Tuesday, Apple unveiled a slew of cutting-edge entertainment offerings that will be available on its mixed reality (MR) headset Vision Pro beginning on February 2. Apple Vision Pro offerings include 3D Disney Plus movies and material from numerous other streaming services.

Users may discover the entertainment of the future, view over 150 3D movies, and turn any space into a personal theater with the $3,499 Apple Immersive Video device.

Immersive Experiences with Apple Immersive Video

According to Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak, “Users can turn any place into the best seat in the house, enjoy personal concerts and adventures with Apple Immersive Video, interact with lifelike prehistoric creatures in Encounter Dinosaurs, and even land on the surface of the moon using Environments.

Extensive Movie Library and Disney Collaboration

The CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, stated that Apple Vision Pro will allow fans to become more fully immersed in everything Disney has to offer while also bringing them closer to beloved stories and characters. Iger declared, “We’re thrilled to be working with Apple once more to offer amazing new Disney experiences to people all over the world.”

Customers of Apple Vision Pro will be able to watch over 150 3D films at launch, including popular classics and more recent blockbusters such as Avatar: The Way of Water, Dune, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Super Mario Bros.

Advanced Technology of Apple Vision Pro

Owners of the Vision Pro will also have access to 3D versions of movies including Avengers: Endgame, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Encanto. The movies are now available for rent through the Apple TV app, and those who have already bought them will get the 3D versions for free.

There will be more releases later on, some of which will only be available to Disney Plus subscribers.

“Apple Immersive Video features 180-degree 3D 8K recordings captured with Spatial Audio to transport viewers to the centre of a place, moment, or story. At launch, users can enjoy a curated selection of immersive films and series on the Apple TV app at no additional cost,” said the company.

Top streaming services such as Disney+, 4 ESPN, MLB, PGA Tour, Max, Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, Crunchyroll, Red Bull TV, IMAX, TikTok, and the 2023 App Store Award-winning MUBI will also be available for download.

With a total pixel count of 23 million, Apple Vision Pro is equipped with two ultra-high-resolution micro-OLED screens that support Dolby Vision, rich color, and a high dynamic range.

Eight times faster than a person’s blink, the new R1 chip transmits images to each display every 12 milliseconds. Meanwhile, the M2 chip offers revolutionary, power-efficient performance across its CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, and other unique technologies. According to Apple, Vision Pro can be used for two hours in general, up to 2.5 hours when watching videos, and all day when the external battery is charged via a USB-C connector.

Conclusion

Apple’s introduction of the Vision Pro headset represents a significant leap forward in entertainment technology. Apple’s commitment to offering innovative entertainment is evident in its extensive film collection, which encompasses both beloved classics and contemporary hits.

Included is cutting-edge technology such as 180-degree 3D 8K recordings. The Vision Pro’s ultra-high-resolution displays and state-of-the-art R1 and M2 CPUs are revolutionizing mixed reality possibilities.
