Common University Entrance TestCUET UG 2023 exam will be held in a window of 10 days, from May 21 to May 31. The CUET 2023 application form along with the details brochure will be released in the first week of February. NTA has also declared reserved dates of June 1 to June 7 for the exam. National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam managing body, announced the CUET UG 2023 dates on December 15, with the common entrance examination calendar. According to UGC, the result of the Common University Entrance Test 2023 will be announced by the third week of June 2023. Furthermore, UGC has also declared that there will be no change in the examination pattern or structure.

The Common University Entrance Test is the largest national-level entrance examination for the undergraduate level managed by the National Testing Agency. Other information about the exam such as the application process, eligibility criteria, exam cities, exam pattern, syllabus, answer keys and results, etc. will come up in the information bulletin of CUET 2023.

CUET UG is a multidisciplinary exam managed across a window of multiple days, in different phases. Last year, the exam was managed over a window of 30 days and around 15 lakh candidates presented for the exam. The number of test-takers for CUET UG 2023 is even higher. CUET is a computer-based test managed in two slots for differential durations. Candidates can present for multiple subjects or paper combinations.

What is CUET?

Central University Entrance Test (CUET) is an all-India level entrance exam held by NTA for admission in UG courses provided in all the participating institutions. Till 2021, the full name of the examination was Central Universities Common Entrance Test, which was changed by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The exam is held once a year in over 500 cities in India and abroad. The exam is managed in a computer-based mode for two hours. Originally CUCET was managed by UGC in a paper-pencil-based mode. Last year onwards, NTA held the test in a computer-based mode.

CUET UG 2023 Tentative Dates

CUET 2023 Application Process

The CUET UG 2023 application form will be revealed online by NTA on the official website of the exam. Candidates must fill out the CET application form online on the official website of the exam. The first step is to register by filling in the basic details such as name, contact, and address details.

This will create login credentials. After successfully logging in with the registration credentials, candidates must fill up the CUET 2023 application form with their personal and academic information, program, and exam city preference and upload important documents. After the form is filled, candidates must pay the application fee online via debit/credit card, Paytm, Net Banking, and UPI. Equally important NTA will also give the opportunity to make corrections in the application form of CUCET UG 2023 after the outcome of the process and prior to the result. Candidates can make changes in the fields of their or their parents/guardians’ names, gender, date of birth, category, PWBD, and choice of universities.

CUET 2023 Eligibility

Candidates must match the eligibility criteria set by NTA to apply and present for Common University Entrance Test 2023. The eligibility parameters are down below:

  • Students must have passed Class 12 from a board in Science stream to get into bachelor’s degree programs in the Central Universities.
  • For the General category, the candidate must secure a minimum of 50 percent in Class 12, for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45 percent in Class 12 to be eligible for the Common University Entrance Test 2023. For BTech programs, the least aggregate for the General category candidates is 45% and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

CUET 2023 Syllabus

The syllabus will be revealed by the NTA with the official notification. The syllabus of the exam will be the same level as NCERT Class 12 syllabus. The common subjects across the different courses of the Common University Entrance Test syllabus are English, General Aptitude, Analytical Skills, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Knowledge. NTA has also revealed a subject-wise syllabus that students have to refer to while studying for the exam.

CUET 2023 Exam Pattern

Common University Entrance Test 2023 exam pattern will be revealed by National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam-holding body along with the notification and information brochure. In addition, the exam pattern had various changes last year. The pattern changes from Slot I and Slot II. UG 2023 will be held in a computer-based mode (CBT) for 2.5 hours.

The exam will have Section 1A, Section 1B, domain-specific, and General Test subjects. Section 1A, which will be necessary, will be in 13 languages and candidates will have the option to select the language of their choice. Moreover, section 1B is optional, for those who want to select another language despite the ones that are a part of Section 1A. Some of the languages are French, German, Arabic, etc. Each question will have five marks. And also there will be one negative marking for every wrong answer.
