The Packers took care of business on Monday night, defeating the LA Rams 24-12 on a chilly evening at Lambeau Field.
With the victory, Green Bay Packers improved to 6-8 and maintained their playoff position in the NFC. The Los Angeles Rams record now reads 4-10.
QB Aaron Rodgers completed 22 of 29 passes for 229 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and a passer rating of 95.3. RB Before exiting for a concussion assessment, AJ Dillion had 11 carries for 36 yards and two touchdowns along with three receptions for 35 yards.
Rookie WR Romeo Doubs, playing for the first time in 5 games after coming back from an ankle injury, had 5 catches for 55 yards, and fellow rookie Wr Christian Watson had four catches for 47 yards.
Baker Mayfield, the Rams’ QB, completed 12-of-12 passes for 111 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and a 67.8 rating. RB Cam Akers amassed 65 yards on 12 carries and 35 yards on 3 receptions.
CB Rasul Douglas had the interception for the Packers, and the defense also had five sacks, with LB Preston Smith getting two of them.
Packers Lead Rams 3-0 After the First Quarter
After winning the toss, the Packers decided to defer. with the start. tied Brett Favre’s record of 225 straight games played for the franchise. Brandon Powell was tackled by Innis Gaines at the Los Angeles Rams 20.
On consecutive run plays, Keeny Clark split two double teams, leading to a two-yard tackle for a loss. On third-and-15, Baker Mayfield found van Jefferson for a 17-yard completion. But the Rams were stopped by Green Bay Packers on their subsequent third down thanks to a sack by Preston Smith for a loss of 8 yards. In his last nine primetime games, Smith has recorded nine sacks.
On first down, Kingsley Enagbare recorded his third sack of the year, bringing down Baker Mayfield for a one-point loss. Additionally, he dismantled Tyler Higbee’s third-and-11 screen to force the
Taylor Rapp intercepted Rodger with 28 seconds left in the first quarter.
Packers Lead Rams 10-6 at Halftime
The Los Angeles Rams had the ball at the Green Bay 15 before Preston Smith forced Baker Mayfield into an incomplete pass that Quay Walker nearly intercepted. With 10:41 remaining in the first half, Matt Gay kicked a 33-yard field goal to knot the score at 3.
With 37 seconds left until halftime, Green Bay regained control at its 13. Aaron Jones gained 6 yards while running an additional 23 yards after reading a script. But on the attempted Hail Mary, Rodgers would be fired.
The Packers Lead the Rams 24-12 After 3
Rodgers completed 10-yard passes over the shoulder and on a slant to Dubois and Christian Watson to start the second half. Then Rogers escaped a charging Bobby Wanger and made a 17-yard flat hit on Dillion. Rodger and Watson connected in the center of the field for 15 yards, to the LA 13 on the following play.
With an 18-yard pass to Brandon Powell, the Rams roared back. Later, Akers scored from 19 yards out for the Green Bay Packers 10 to end the game. With 22 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Mayfield completed an 8-yard touchdown pass to Higbee to cap the 6-play drive. Gay’s wide right Extra Pints Points miss left the score at 24–12.
