About GATE 2024 Exam

The organization of the GATE Exam in 2024 will be IISc Bangalore. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national test that is jointly administered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee. Test results are used by a number of government engineering, technical, and architectural institutes to select master’s and doctoral degree candidates.

GATE 2024 Application Fee

Applicants whose applications are not properly completed will not be accepted; they must pay the application fee at the time of submission. Below is a list of the GATE 2024 Application Fees, broken down by category.

GATE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are filling the online application form for GATE 2024 should be a citizen of India. Candidates outside India can apply for the GATE exam 2024 if they meet the given eligibility criteria


In order to be considered for admission through GATE 2024, candidates must meet the qualifying standards listed below. The IIT Kharagpur will make public the requirements for eligibility that will be relevant for applicants planning to take the GATE exam in 2024.

Must be in the last year of their bachelor’s degree in engineering and technology, or be in the pre-final year of it;

Must be in the last year of their postgraduate degree in any relevant science topics, or be in the pre-final year of it.

Education Qualification

Candidates who have already earned a degree higher than those shown in the table are also qualified to take the GATE 2024 exam. Review the requirements for each degree from the table below.

Age Limit

The GATE 2024 exam has no upper age limit for participation. For any PSU recruitment, candidates seeking admission to a master’s program must be GATE qualified.

GATE 2024 Exam Pattern

Online testing will be used for the GATE 2024 exam (Computer Based Test). The GATE online exam consists of 65 questions overall, worth 100 points. Three hours are the total amount of time allowed for this exam. Applicants can review the Gate exam pattern below.

  • Exam form: Computer-based online exam (CBT)

  • Questions come in three different varieties: multiple choice (MCQ), multiple select (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT).
